Connie,Gayle, and Barbara. They grew up in Hoquiam, (close to where we live) but raised their families in Idaho within 30 miles of each other. Therefore, their families were very close. Jeremy grew up with his cousins...where I hardly knew mine until after I went to college. There are still a few of the family still in Idaho, but many have moved away...us to the west, and at least one all the way on the east coast. We were all excited to get together again. Many of us had been together at Grandpa Ralph's funeral...but that just reminded us how good it is to hang out with family.
Our reunion this year centered around Jason and Candee McKnight's house in Heber, Ut. It is a nice, big house, with a huge yard, and lots of toys for the kids to entertain themselves. They had a horse, that we somehow didn't find the time to ride...too much other stuff going on I guess. We were close to Park City, and other fun places to play. We went swimming in a nice indoor pool one day and out in Midway on another.
Some of the uncles/cousins/dads were great sports in letting the kids thrash on them! of course Elijah is right in the middle of that fight. You can also see Kas on a back! She's not going to let the boys have all the fun!
We had the talent show, which I think is a big deal at any Warthen gathering. There is a lot of talent in this family!
We heard stories of the Grandmothers in the family, songs the Grandparents used to sing, watched videos of past family gatherings, played games, and just enjoyed each others company!
We got our toys out and many enjoyed riding. The McKnights wanted to get a track established in one area of their yard, and many were obliged to help!
Branden and Sheron (I know I spelled that wrong!)
Elijah got some pointers in dirt riding by Shiloh
We did have an injury that put the fear in us all. 26 stitches later, and alot of anxiety and pain.....But, Braden and his parents were good sports...and small miracles with no lasting effects, except an awesome scar and a great story to tell. Thank goodness!Families that attended:

Adam and Buffy and familyLacy and her boys get the award for traveling the farthest...from the east coast! We were glad to see her. Her dh had to stay behind playing soldier!Jared and Lori and familyBranden and Sheron (I know I spelled that wrong!)
Jason and Candee...the host family! Thanks for all your hospitality...Candee was running the whole time making sure everything was in order, saying 'this is soo much fun!' what a woman!
I am showing both of Wendy and Bryan's family photo...cause look at the baby. Her expression change within seconds is priceless. On the computer we would click back and forth between the two photos and laugh our heads off!

The babies of the family. I think they are the same age, or close to....
Here we are packing up getting ready to go. That was a reoccuring theme on our trip...loading all the toys! J was super sweet and loaded his bike again. So he could ride with us, and give me a break from driving. I was very grateful but felt bad. Unless you ride motorcyles, you cannot fathom the sacrifice that was...to give up riding on a nice day! I love that guy!

We camped at Jason and Candee's house, since we had the motorhome. This was the view we had one night. It was very beautiful. I decided if I ever had to live in Utah, this area would work for me.
We really had a great time. I love Jeremy's family. I know how blessed I am to have great in-laws! all of them! The reunion ended Saturday night, we stayed the night, and missed church because it was canceled...due to the swine flu! I couldn't believe it. Sunday we went back to Carrie's for one more night. We would pick up Cole the next day (he's going to Karate Camp this year as well) and head home.
After we got to Carrie's house, I realized, I got a photo of every family who attended...but not our own. So, we had one done in Carrie's back yard! silly!
